NBC VISIT COMPUTER WAREHOUSE GROUP

The top management of Nigeria’s broadcast regulator National Broadcasting Commission NBC, led by the (Ag) Director General Ms. Alheri Saidu, were in Lagos over the weekend on an inspection visit to facilities for the satellite uplink of the Jos Pilot Digital Switch Over.

They were conducted round the uplink facilities hosted by the Computer Warehouse Group, by CWG’s Executive Vice Chairman, Mr. Austin Okere.

Other stakeholders on the inspection visit, included Mohammed Bawa, the General Manager CCNL and Mr. Rajiv Mekkat, the CEO, Inview Nigeria.

Addressing the delegation, the CWG boss commended the NBC team for the visit and noted that coming to CWG on a Saturday, showed the seriousness they attached to the Digital Switch Over.

CWG and SES are in partnership to provide the uplink of the national and regional channels for the Jos pilot project.

Responding, the Ag. DG disclosed that NBC staff work round the clock to ensure the success of the DSO project which she described as the Commission’s major focus and urged the SES/CWG partners to ensure everything worked out successfully at their end.

Speaking on behalf of the SES, the GM Mr. Ibrahim Guimba- Saidou, said the DSO project was of high priority and assured the broadcast regulator of their readiness to ensure its success.

Presentations were made by Theodore Asampong, Sales Director of SES and James Agada of CWG.

The NBC management was shown the transmitting and receiving dish farm, as well as the various processing and monitoring facilities needed for the DSO.
